| 4. | Descripción | Resumen | In recent years, the Ethiopian Ministry of Higher Education has analyzed the prospects for university development in the modern knowledge society. Its main objective is focused on determining the conditions for the transformation of universities into knowledge-generating structures. In the last decade in Ethiopia, much work has been done in the area of education and health promotion, when it specifically deals with the oral health problems of our people. A periodontal emergency arises when an acute condition involving the periodontium causes pain, forcing the patient to seek urgent care. There are gaps between the training of the dentistry professional and the results expected of him in solving problems; on the other hand, the speed in the production of knowledge in recent years makes the obsolescence of techniques and procedures increasingly rapid so it is necessary that the university professor must constantly update his knowledge. An improvement proposal was made linked to the Periodontics subject that will contribute to training in the educational teaching process of dentistry interns on issues of Periodontal Emergency Update, with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide adequate care to the affected population. The pedagogical strategy proposed in this program allows achieving a comprehensive training action, which includes in a balanced way, the intellectual aspects and the values that promote the harmonious development of the dentistry students, without forgetting the practice and the social context in which it is found. |
